Since ancient times, eclipse have been considered a sign of catastrophe. 5,000 years ago, the Taotang clan believed that only by sacrificing animals could the sun's anger be appeased. So whenever they predicted that an eclipse was about to occur, the Taotang clan would come to this ruin -- a destroyed capital of their ancestors, and hold a great ritual in this temple.
